The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Moungi Bawendi, Louis Brus and Alexei Ekimov for their foundational work on quantum dots, nanoscale particles with major uses in imaging, lighting and electronics.
